Progress as Promised — Construction Commences

Recognized as Colorado Springs’ newest senior living community, Aberdeen Ridge formally announces construction has begun for the expansive, 15-acre community.  Aberdeen Ridge is owned and managed by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America (PMMA), a not-for-profit senior living organization.

Since the announcement of the development in 2019, Aberdeen Ridge has experienced consistent and growing demand despite the societal challenges of the pandemic. The community has been accepting risk-free deposits for those who want to ensure priority selection of apartment styles and locations.

“We have been engaging local seniors and their families for the past two years, and it’s encouraging to witness their interest and expressions regarding our new community. It’s clear there is need and demand for this living option,” states Bruce Shogren, president and CEO of PMMA. “We are excited to contribute to healthy, thriving lives here in Colorado Springs for many years ahead.”

Recent Census Bureau reports show more than 57,000 Colorado Springs residents are already 65 years or older, and that number is expected to grow by 11% over the course of the next 10 years as more and more Baby Boomers reach their senior years.

Seniors have been attracted to the lovely living options complemented by the professional, dedicated care and support they will receive at the community. Aberdeen Ridge includes 171 independent living residences, as well as 40 assisted living and 24 memory care apartments on the campus. The community features a range of amenities, activities to offer an exciting, active lifestyle option to the Colorado Springs market.

Future residents will enjoy numerous services and amenities, including fine dining, beautiful gardens and walking trails, a fitness center, heated pool, coffee shop and a bistro. Aberdeen Ridge is the first in Colorado Springs to offer protection of the estate through a largely refundable entrance fee. The community also offers a Unique Health Care Benefit which gives seniors access to quality assisted living and memory care at a predictable monthly rate if they need it.

Aberdeen Ridge is designed for people who appreciate the opportunities that come with aging – like the freedom to travel, spend time with friends and family, and savor the natural beauty of Colorado Springs that’s just outside their door. And it’s for people who celebrate the depth of faith-based values, the independence that comes with personal choices, and the security of a solid plan for future health care tailored to their needs.

“Aberdeen Ridge isn’t just about senior living. It’s about purposeful living,” adds Shogren. “Our community is designed for those who want to pursue physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being every day. We offer all the comforts of home and more.”
