Charter Member Linda Madden loved her Christmas gift from the Aberdeen Ridge team. The vintage look compass, is engraved with her beloved phrase “The mountains are calling, and I must go!” She said this was true for her 30 years ago, and she’s never regretted making Colorado Springs her home. The compass is a powerful metaphor to her for this time of life and choices that need a “true north.”
We all know and love those Christmas movie favorites! “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “A Christmas Story” and one of my favorite “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. You can probably recite many lines or know multiple details of those favorites, but you might be surprised to find out some little known facts about the movies we have all come to know and love.
Be the first to answer all of these little known fact questions about your favorite Christmas movies correctly and you will get to take your pick from a variety of gift cards to some of your favorite local spots. You can email your answers to me at cammann@pmma.org.
I will announce the winners for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on Thursday, December 17th along with the answers. We will even bring your gift card to you when we deliver your Christmas gifts! Have fun!
Our Charter Member artists showed off their amazing talents in our first annual art show. Judith McKay, Kenneth McKay and Kang Lee Shepherd have such artistic talent. When Kang Lee was asked why she enjoys art she said “I just love to teach others and I can do that with art.” Judith and Kenneth both enjoy photography and abstract art. The art will be displayed in our office at 2925 Professional Place Suite #202 all through the month of December. We invite you to come in and take a look at the beautiful pieces on display.
Anxiety has been known to be a bit of a taboo word in our society. Whether you have experienced anxiety yourself or not, it can be, and for some often it, debilitating. There is much to be anxious about in today’s world, but some things have proven to help ease that anxious feeling you may be experiencing.

I have really enjoyed the Balance and Stretching classes. Instructor Stacy Shay is experienced and clearly understands aging bodies. After 4 sessions so far, she is appropriately starting to ramp up stamina and range of movement. I'd love to see her class go weekly, at least while the weather is cold and we are still stuck in our homes more than usual. Weekly classes would give us more continuity and opportunity for progress. Thanks for offering this and Yoga. Both are wonderful!
I find the Gentle Balance and Stretch exercise class to be very valuable. I'm getting a good workout and I really like the instructor. Her pace is just right for me; in fact, she has picked up the pace from the first session, which suits me just fine. I have tried many other virtual classes this year since my Silver Sneakers classes shut down at my local gym, and have always been discouraged before. But this class works my body just right and gets my heart rate up, but not too much. I also value the social aspect as I get to know the other participants. It helps relieve my isolation. Please continue to offer this Zoom class. I would like to see it EVERY week!
The Friday stretch class is helpful for cardio, balance, and mobility improvements. Also, I love the weekly yoga class.
I just finished Stacy’s exercise class. She has a nice pace and way about her with clear explanations. Most enjoyable and I especially like meeting Aberdeenites.
I enjoyed the presentation about volcanoes in Antarctica. It was my first class with the Pillar Institute and all went well with the technology. I'll surely attend more Pillar classes.
