The Ku Klux Klan in 1920’s Colorado – It is the #2 State
The Ku Klux Klan was born in the South in 1866 as a resistance movement against Post-Civil War Reconstruction. Its next large-scale revival spread across the Midwest and West, largely as a nativist response to immigration. Thus, it found a home in Colorado, which was second in membership only to Indiana. Its impact here is an amazing and cautionary tale.
